Can you believe it? I drew a human.... and I'm actually pretty happy with it. I can't even... wow. But anyways, I've decided that since I'm not ready for full body yet, I'm going to do head shot portraits for my character's refs and maybe have links to pictures in stash for their weopons or whatever else. So, first up, we have Matthew! Still my favorite boy. I'm trying to decide between Alose and Kole next. Not an easy choice.
Full Name: Matthew Markus Forester
Preferred Name: Mat or Matthew
Age: 753 (physically 19 years)
Hair: A deep, dark brown that is near to black it contrasts greatly with his pale skin, but yet it somehow looks good despite this. It is very long and thick, falling just above his shoulders in the back, though it is slightly shorter in the front. His bangs are long, falling just above his eyes, sometimes stray locks will even veil his beautiful eyes slightly, giving his eyes an even more majestic look to them. His hair is always messy, looking like he just came in from being in a blizzard, yet it always looks perfect, no matter what he does to it.
Eyes: His eyes are like his weapon, and one look into them and you are trapped. When he looks at you, you can't help but feel like he is looking deep into your soul, as if looking to see who you really are. They are most often a lovely golden brown color that constantly give away his every emotion. He is a great actor, able to hide what he is feeling, except he can never make his eyes tell his lie, they always brazenly give him away. When he is angry, one glace can send someone cowering away, and when he is happy, just a look and you are filled with joy. His eyes are indeed his greatest tool no matter what he is doing, as long as he can keep his true emotions hidden.
Of course, his eyes are not always this same, beautiful, captivating golden color. As with all vampires (or at least, the vampires that live in my head) when he is faced with a thirst for blood, his eyes will shift from their normal color to a red, even glowing bright crimson when they have given in/are about to give in to the thirst. Mat often tries to fight his thirst and so rarely does anyone see his eyes change, although there have been a few who have managed to drive him almost to the breaking point.
Also, like any other vampire, his eyes have the power to compel someone to do whatever he asks. All he has to do is look them in the eyes and give them an order. His pupils will dilate and then return to normal and the person has no choice but to do what he asked. They are completely unable to fight it. Thankfully though, he refrains from compelling people as he hates the fact that vampires can force humans to do something against their will, not giving them any chance to fight it.
Skin: Though not particularly white, his skin is quite pale. It almost resembles someone who is malnourished and sickly, while at the same time, he never actually looks ill, but in fact appears to be in perfect health, if not better. To the touch, his skin is cool, not particularly cold, but certainly not as warm as one would expect when touching a living being.
Build: He is quite thin, though not so much that he looks unhealthy. He has quite a set of muscles in his arms and has a nice six pack. Still, he could by no means pass as a jock, though perhaps a track and field runner. He certainly doesn’t look like a geek either though. However, don't underestimate him, he has inhuman strength and speed. He could easily break someone's bones had he need to and can pretty much move at the speed of light.
Voice: Besides his eyes, his greatest tool and most certainly the thing that takes the most breaths away is his voice. Always a soft, somewhat cold tone, he seems to sing every word he speaks. Able to melt a girls heart with one sentence, his voice has an angelic ring to it that makes it all the better.
When he gives in to his thirst, on the other hand, and his eyes have shifted all the way to their bright, glowing red, his voice tends to take on a darker, more sinister hint, while still being soft. It's contradicting and thoroughly terrifying.
Often Wears: He is pretty bland when it comes to his taste in clothing. For the most part you can expect him to be wearing a worn, washed out pair of jeans along with a plain t-shirt. He doesn't like sneakers though, and will not be seen dead wearing them. Instead, he prefers to wear a pair of black hiking boots.
Accessories/Piercings: He isn't one to wear any accessories and especially not piercings. However, he does have an old silver wrist watch which he always wears. It is very worn and tends to stop working randomly so is very unreliable, yet he still wears it wherever he goes.
Mother: Long dead
Father: Long dead
Siblings: Long dead
Status: Single and not looking
Personality: First impressions are supposed to be the most important, but sadly for Mat, his first impressions are often not all that good. At first glace he tends to come across as socially awkward and even slightly mentally challenged. He does his best to avoid any confrontation, often hiding alone in forests and such. Very few people even get a chance to see him. When he is in town or around others, he is known to keep to himself, hiding in a dark shadow. He acts strangely when close to others, causing many to think that he has social anxiety. The closer he is to someone, the more tensed up he gets as he is fighting his thirst which has threatened to drive him mad many times. He tends to take his time when talking, sometimes pausing between words, as if he is searching for the right thing to say. He does this especially when he is upset or angry, or in the rare cases when he is fighting that hunger he tries to hide. His sentences are usually short and to-the-point, rarely decorated by fancy words, and he speaks with a sort of 'old-fashioned' accent.
Of course, though he comes across as an awkward individual, he is indeed very intelligent. His mind is extremely quick, able to put together almost any puzzle he is faced with. He notices the slightest of signs no matter the situation he is in. Hardly anything can be snuck by him without him at least suspecting something. His mind works quickly and he often figures things out before any one else even knows it's there to be figured out. He loves a puzzle, always in search of something to keep his mind occupied. He eagerly seeks out challenges, puzzles which pose a threat that he couldn't solve them, but of course, he almost always solves them in the end. Inside he can be a little proud of his abilities, though very few actually know this. He keeps to himself his pride, not showing others that he sees himself as unbeatable.
He is very calm and quiet and very little can upset him. He is an actor, hiding his true emotions from others, always coming across as an emotionless wreck who really doesn't care about anything anyways. Even when facing danger he rarely shows signs of fear or concern and is known to go about as if it really doesn't matter to him what happens. He is also extremely patient and can sit through just about anything. Like everyone though, there are those few things that get to him and he can be quite hasty in letting you know when you've gone too far. The most sensitive of things for him is human life. He values human life more than anything and he hates those who steal the lives of innocent people. Though he is usually very calm and level-headed, he will not hold back from addressing someone who has gone too far in such matters.
Mat is also very stubborn. Giving in is not something he does well, no matter what or who he is facing. He doesn't take too well to loosing, though outwardly he never seems to care. This strong-headedness of his is what has saved him from falling to a level Beta. Of course, mentioning this means I'm going to have to explain what on heaven I'm talking about, but that will come in the 'Other' part of his information. Pretty much though, Mat has had quite the fight keeping himself from falling to Beta, and at times he has even considered just letting go as it would be so much easier than fighting. Still, he is too stubborn to give in. That added with his hatred toward those who harm other humans has prevented him from falling to Beta… for now.
History: His history is very complicated and, as is to be expected, very long. The simplest and easiest part of his life to explain would be his actual life, the time before he was changed into a vampire. To put it simply, he lived a normal life. Not to say he didn't have a few problems here and there, but it wasn't all that bad. That is of course, until his father left his family, leaving him to fend for them and work two jobs in order to his mother and two younger brothers. Slowly he fell into depression and rage, growing more and more angry with his father for leaving him, and growing even more sick of having to work so hard. His life as he knew it was slipping away and he was forced to grow up far before his time, and this caused him to slowly fall into hatred for everyone around him.
It was in this emotional time of his life that he met a vampire on his way home from his night job. This wasn't just any vampire though, he was an Omega, and he had been watching Mat for quite some time. Megálos, one of the first vampires ever to exist, saw something in this boy that he did not often see, and being bored and quite greedy, he decided to make it his. Waiting impatiently for a red light in the middle of a dark, empty street where not another car was seen all around, Mat was completely oblivious to the fact that this would be his last night to be looked at through the eyes of a young man with a messed up family. Megálos attacked Mat in his own car, forced to eat the blood of the vampire, and then killed. He woke up an hour later, still in his car, still at the red light, but yet, things were different.
It took him some time to learn what had happened to him, but when he did, he took advantage of his newly found strength, eagerly seeking out his next meal with no concern for who it was. His anger that he had harvested over the years blinded him to the truth, to the fact that he was killing innocent lives. After a few weeks, he also discovered his gift: the ability to feel the emotions of those he touched. As long as he was touching them, he could feel their every emotion, including fear.
Fear became like a drug to him. To feel the fear in his victims became an addiction. It drove him to the point that he would actually torture his prey just to frighten them even more. He was fueled by this fear, and also the pain, the sorrow of knowing their life was soon to end. At times he would keep a pet, leaving them at the brink of death, feeding on them whenever he so pleased, always doing everything he could to terrify them until they begged him for death. Eventually he ever reached the point where he could feel the sensation of their pain, and this simply drove him on even more. That was who he was for years, a monster who showed no mercy but instead tortured his victims no matter who they where. And all this time, Megálos was watching him, smiling at his own creation, his destructive creation, waiting in sweet anticipation for the day he truly became a monster.
Over time though, he began to grow sick of himself. The reality of who he was slowly dawned on him and he began to regret every time he killed someone. Sickened by who he was, he did everything he could to change. Though he couldn't fight the hunger, he no longer tortured his victims and he rarely killed them, only taking what he needed and then leaving. Slowly he locked up the monster inside him and was determined never to let it out. Still, it killed him to have to harm innocent people in order to survive, and without him even knowing it, he almost fell to a Beta, just as Megálos wanted.
Thankfully for him though, he ran into an older vampire who could see the trouble he was going through. This vampire could tell from Matthew's smell that he was a slave of Megálos and he soon found that the Omega had failed to teach the young boy the rules of being a vampire, and therefore Mat knew nothing but what his instinct was. The vampire pitied him, knowing that if he didn't help him soon, he would be killed by the vampire hunters. It was impressive enough that he hadn't already been hunted down and killed. And so this older vampire taught Matthew the rules of being a vampire, taught him of the agreement between vampires and vampire hunters, and he introduced him to the blood tablet, the substitute for human blood and the one thing that prevented vampire hunters from killing them. It took Mat quite some time, for a long while he could not even get the tablets down as his body desired real human blood, but he was strong willed and stubborn and soon he managed to make the transition to where he could survive solely on the tablets.
Still, he had killed many humans and he was seen as a great threat by the vampire hunters and he was on their list. One day they found him and almost killed him. The older vampire came just in time to save him and he gave his own life so that Mat could live, he gave his life as his way of swearing that his student was no longer a danger. After that, Mat's life changed completely. He was no longer hunted by the hunters and he no longer killed or even harmed innocent people.
Still, because he has tasted so much of human blood, his body still craves it and he thirsts for it more than most Alpha vampires. He fights the thirst every day and is hardly able to be around humans at times. He will always be driven to let go when around others and one slip up can mean the harm of whoever is nearby. Because the 'taste' of fear still drives him as it used to, he refrains from touching people for fear their emotions will cause him to slip. There have been times that he has lost it and fed on human blood. Each time he slips it gets harder and harder for him to fight the thirst. He knows it is only a matter of time before his body rejects the tablets for good.
Other: Ok, so as you can see I've put a lot of thought into his 'breed'. It is different form what many others might see a vampire as and there really has been a lot of research and planning and such put into this. However, I'm tired of typing information and I just want to write to write right now, so, though I was going to type up a bunch of information about the vampires that live in my world, I'm not going to right now so… sorry. But don't worry, I will soon, and not to mention, I'm thinking I'm going to write a story about Mat… I'm not really sure yet because some of the things that happen in his life are a little more… vulgar and I'm not good at writing those. Still, I'm considering it, and if I do, you'll learn a lot about his 'breed' of vampire. Until then... Um... Be happy! (P.S. I know it's been a while, but I do have a large amount of it typed up, I just don't want to post it until most of it is figured out. Sorry.)
