Personality:

Shy - Xenos has not met that many others in his lifetime. For the larger part of his life he didn't know anyone but his mother, and later the stallion she brought home with her. He is not reserved but he is indeed slightly shy and often seems to feel a little awkward when around others. He loves company but doesn't know what to do with it. He can get stressed when he is around too many others that he doesn't know yet. For this reason he tends to avoid large crowds, but he loves to have a friend around or two.

Socially Awkward - As a result of having very little to no social experience growing up, Xenos never truly learned how to properly interact with others. The first thing that anyone notices is his talking habits. He tends to mix up his sentences, sounding something like a confused Yoda. He has trouble getting his ideas through, but he is also very patient and willing to repeat himself when necessary. He is also unaware of social norms and therefor can come off as rude or out of it sometimes. He doesn't know many manners, though he tries his best to practice the ones that he has learned. He doesn't know much about personal space either and so has come off as slightly creepy, but he really has no bad intentions, he just doesn't know how to properly act around others.

Sweetheart - Despite his awkwardness and quietness, Xenos is a very sweet boy. For those few who take the time to get to know him, they will soon find out that he is really just a big teddy bear. He loves to make friends and make others happy. He will go out of his way to see a friend smile. He loves company and is happy just to sit and talk with someone else. He may be shy and he may not know any social rules but take the time to get to know him and you will not regret it.

History: 

"It was not much attention from my mother I got, but she was loved by me much."
Xenos didn't get much time away from home. He didn't get much attention at home either. His mother was out every night selling herself to others so that she could afford her expensive drug addiction. When she was home she was usually so out of it that she hardly knew who he was. Xenos didn't have any hard feelings toward his mother. He loved her still, he just wished she would give him more than a second look. Several times as a young foal he would try to gain her attention in any way that he could. He fond that by dancing she would often stop and watch him in interest. Even if it wasn't much, it was still attention and so the colt continued. He strove to grow better in his dancing abilities and even learned to sing as he danced to add to the attraction. The most he got was a dazed stare and a clap and praise at the end, but that was enough for the young colt. It was approval and it was his mothers.
His mother was the only horse he knew for the first several years in his life. She was the only socialization he truly got. Because of this his social skills lacked greatly, and even his speech. Constantly hearing only his mother's drug-filled sentences, mixed and muddled, he learned to express his thoughts and feelings in just as mixed a way. Proper manners and etiquette were not something that he had ever even been exposed to during the first 13 years of his life.

Many would agree that his lifestyle was far from desirable, but it was all he knew and he was content with how it was. Things changed though one day when his mother brought home a stallion. To a young colt, the stallion was huge and frankly very frightening. He wasn't of the same breed he and his mother were. He didn't even have a long tail. His coat was as black as night. His eyes were a deep muddy brown that glared down at the colt as if he were the most disgusting thing he'd seen. He was tall and broad, with so much muscle that Xenos wondered how he could hold himself up. Even his voice was deep and huge, making the colt want to run away. He hid behind his mother as he was introduced to the stallion that would be living with them from then on. He was wealthy and with him his mother would no longer have to work while still continuing her addiction.
The Frisian never liked Xenos from the beginning. He was small, he was quiet, he was weak, and he didn't even look nearly as good as his beautiful mother. As far as he found it, he was a complete waist of his time and energy to have to take care of a colt as well. He did his best to turn the colt into the one he wanted him to be. He taught him manners... well more, he taught him submission. He also attempted to fix the colt's horrible talking habits. Half of the time the stallion had no idea what it was Xenos was trying to say, and he grew increasingly frustrated with him for that. Try as he might though, the colt could not fix his speech, it was too ingrained in his life, it was the only way he knew to talk. Over time the stallion resorted to beating Xenos if he couldn't understand him, but even that hardly helped. He learned to revise his sentences though, and when he truly tried, he could sometimes get a good one out, but it took much effort. The stallion's heavy beatings though made that effort worth it, but they also built onto the foundation of fear that Xenos had started with. The stallion hated Xenos, Xenos was terrified of the stallion, but his mother seemed to love the Frisian, and it was because of his respect for her that Xenos continued to bear the beatings and just avoid him whenever he could.

"Afraid of my dream to be true, I ran first."
As the years went by, Xenos' fear of the stallion continued to grow until he started to have nightmares about him. It was one nightmare that continued to play over and over in his head. It started on occasion, only happening once a month. Slowly the dream became more and more frequent until it was nearly every night that he had the dream.
In his dream he was standing on the edge of a cliff. Looking down he could see no end, it was a never-ending fall as far as the eyes could see. Across it was a beautiful peaceful field, safe and filled with green pastures. The only way to get to it was by walking across a fallen tree that hang from one end to the other. Behind him was the black stallion who demanded Xenos cross it. The dream may differ in some ways within the conversation, but whatever they said, it always ended with Xenos giving in and quietly walking onto the tree. He would balance, quietly walking one step at a time across. Just as he was half way the tree would break and he would fall, tumbling down into the blackness. Each night he would wake up at this point.
Each night this dream tortured him, making him more and more stressed. He didn't have nearly enough sleep and his fear for the stallion grew. It wasn't long before he couldn't take it any more. As much as he loved his mother, he couldn't stay. He was afraid that one day the dream would come true. And so he ran. He ran from home and never looked back.
Now he lives on his own. Rarely can he make any friends as his strange speech tends to frighten or confuse others. He tries his best to be kind when he finds someone willing to put up with him and is a sweet thing for those who take the time. On occasion his dream will still haunt him. He can go months without ever having it, but then there will be a night where it returns. When it does come back it recurs for several nights in a row, robbing him of his sleep, though he has learned to look past the dream and continue to live on in his life.
